If I Want To Write A Story

If I want to write a story do you know what comes out instead? 
Sometimes a scribble that I throw away. 
Sometimes a fragment that I realize is useless the next day. 
But also…
 
Sometimes 

Poetry, 
yes poetry. 

With punctuation as flippant as the breeze 
And capitalization odd enough to make brains freeze

Truly, 
sometimes when I want to write a story 
Poetry is all I find. 
Yet I don’t feel confined. 

Truly, 
Because maybe I just have a poet sort of mind.
